When performance meets precision

ml&s Suisse SA has developed a specialized expertise in thermoset overmolding, an electronic protection solution designed for the most demanding environments. This technology involves completely encasing the electronic circuit in a thermosetting material, forming a rigid and waterproof shell that is fully bonded to the finished product.

Unlike resin coating or thermoplastic overmolding processes, thermoset materials offer exceptional resistance to thermal, chemical, and mechanical stress, while ensuring long-term dimensional stability.

This process ensures very high reliability and robustness, even under extreme conditions such as:

  • Repeated autoclave sterilization (up to 2,500 cycles at 140°C)
  • High thermal or climatic gradients
  • Aggressive chemical environments (solvents, cleaning agents, etc.)

Thermoset overmolding also allows for complex topologies that are difficult to achieve with resin coating and enables the direct integration of:

  • Mechanical fixings (metal inserts, clips, mounting sleeves, etc.)
  • Sealed connectors (plugs, contacts, etc.)
  • Application-specific functions for the customer (detection, marking, etc.)

Although less flexible in terms of visual design, this technology is ideal when absolute mechanical, thermal, and chemical integrity is required.

For the operation of environmental or electrochemical sensors, a channel can even be left open in the coating, while keeping the other electronic parts perfectly protected and sealed.

With this solution, we offer our clients reliable, rigid, and durable protection, perfectly suited for critical applications or environments with high exposure.
